League of Legends LeBlanc Build for Season 11 – The Ultimate Guide

by Zaraki Kenpachi

If you were looking to improve your LeBlanc performance, then you’ve come to the right place! This post is a guide on how to build LeBlanc in season 11 of League of Legends, which runes and items to take, as well as other advanced strategies. Read on!

The Ultimate LeBlanc Build Guide

Coming into season 11 of LoL, LeBlanc lost what was most unique about her as a champion – her burst. With the arrival of mythic items to the game, most champions became capable of one-shotting their enemy. Besides assassins, top lane, jungle, and even support champions can successfully kill you in one second, without showing any significant skill. Not to mention that these champions are in most cases tankier than LeBlanc, so the situation begs the question: Why would anyone play LeBlanc in season 11?

Well, the truth is that LeBlanc has still one of the highest burst damages in the game. She is an extremely safe assassin that can go toe-to-toe with anyone. The mythic rework of Luden’s Tempest now provides Ability Haste on top of all that damage and mana, which is great for this champion. And the additional Ability Haste and utility from the rest of this build makes LeBlanc really scary in the mid lane.

Currently, the meta revolves around assassins and bruisers. Many of the AD items have been buffed, so it’s very easy for LeBlanc to fall behind if she messes up the early game. Expect to face off against Zed, Yasuo, Yone, and Talon in almost every game as LeBlanc. But if you have good pressure in the laning phase and a couple of successful roams, you can easily snowball the game and claim victory.

Let’s check the runes and items you should build as LeBlanc in season 11!

LoL Season 11 LeBlanc Build – Runes

Mid Lane LeBlanc build rune page

Runes in order:

  • Electrocute
  • Taste of Blood
  • Eyeball Collection
  • Ravenous Hunter
  • Biscuit Delivery
  • Cosmic Insight

Electrocute

Electrocute - rune needed for the Zed Build

Electrocute: As in the previous seasons, the keystone that we go for on LeBlanc is Electrocute. This is your best friend as an assassin, so make sure to pick it up in 100% of your games.

What’s great about this rune is that it perfectly fits LeBlanc’s playstyle. It strikes the target for additional damage once you’ve hit him three times. You would normally apply your abilities in quick successions or all at once, so an extra damage source is always welcome. This rune has only a 25-20 seconds cooldown and is very valuable throughout the game.

Taste of Blood

Taste of Blood - rune needed for the Zed Build

Taste of Blood: As mentioned above, healing and self-healing are very prevalent in League of Legends currently. Thanks to Taste of Blood, LeBlanc can stand head-to-head with the AD assassins in the mid lane and survive the laning phase.

Taste of Blood is a reliable source of health regeneration and its cooldown is only 20 seconds!

Eyeball Collection

Eyeball Collection - rune needed for the Zed Build

Eyeball Collection: From the third row of the Domination tree, we highly recommend you to play with Eyeball Collection. This is the highest damage booster among the offered choices, so it’s the best one for LeBlanc.

You can certainly go for Ghost Poro and Zombie Ward, but keep in mind that you won’t get the most value out of them since you’re playing mid lane. Those runes work much better on junglers and supports.

Ravenous Hunter

Ravenous Hunter - rune needed for the LeBlanc Build

Ravenous Hunter: And lastly, we have Ravenous Hunter. The same things that we said about Taste of Blood can be said here as well. LeBlanc is essentially a very squishy champion and she needs some kind of defensiveness in her build. She usually dies very quickly if caught off guard, so healing through her damage is honestly a God-sent bonus.

Ravenous Hunter was recently nerfed to not provide Omnivamp right away. Instead, you must collect stacks first. Every stack grants 1.5% Omnivamp, and you can go up to 5 stacks. Together with Taste of Blood, Ravenous Hunter is an extremely powerful tool in League of Legends.

Biscuit Delivery

Biscuit Delivery - rune needed for the Sylas Build

Biscuit Delivery: Time Warp Tonic and Biscuit Delivery are still one of the strongest combination of runes in League of Legends. The latter one is very good if you have trouble surviving the laning phase. The additional biscuits are invaluable when you’re facing either an assassin or a long-range poke mage. So always pick them up!

Time Warp Tonic

Time Warp Tonic - rune needed for the LeBlanc Build

Time Warp Tonic: And Time Warp Tonic is here to enhance the mentioned biscuits and health potions. This rune is honestly broken, giving you 50% of the health potion instantly, on top of movement speed while that potion lasts.

Time Warp Tonic is an essential rune for a success early on as LeBlanc. Being able to quickly run away from danger or chase down enemies is way too important for her.

As for the bonuses, an Attack Speed rune, an Adaptive Damage one, and an Armor/Magic Resist is the combination you need. We take Attack Speed here because you’ll be running Corrupting potion. This item adds a burning effect on you’re auto-attacks, so you’ll be spamming them as well as your attacks.

Now let’s see which items you should build on LeBlanc!

LoL Season 11 LeBlanc Build – Items

Mid Lane LeBlanc build item list

Items in order:

  • Luden’s Tempest
  • Cosmic Drive
  • Zhonya’s Hourglass
  • Rabadon’s Deathcap
  • Morellonomicon
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Luden’s Tempest

Item - Luden's Tempest

Luden’s Tempest: The strongest mythic item choice for LeBlanc is Luden’s Tempest. It was converted into a mythic in season 11 and now it is more powerful and ever. Ability Power, Ability Haster, Mana, and Magic Penetration – it has everything that LeBlanc needs.

On the plus side, Luden’s Tempest has a mythic passive that grants 6 Magic Penetration with each item upgrade. This means that you don’t have to worry about not dealing damage to tanks in most cases. The additional Echo passive has only 10 seconds cooldown, making it hard for LeBlanc players no to build this item first.

Cosmic Drive

Item - Cosmic Drive

Cosmic Drive: If you aren’t familiar with the current AP meta in the mid lane, then here it is. An AP champion reaches an insane power spike after purchasing a mythic item and Cosmic Drive. Thanks to Cosmic Drive, LeBlanc will get a significant cooldown reduction on her abilities. For example, her W can reach a 5 or 4-second cooldown after buying Cosmic Drive.

As you can imagine, this can be very influential on the outcome of the fights. Being able to dash multiple times in a single skirmish while dealing burst damage left and right is hard to stop. So, Luden’s Tempest and Cosmic Drive should be your first two items!

Zhonya’s Hourglass

Item - Zhonya's Hourglass

Zhonya’s Hourglass: Because you’ll lane against AD assassins most of the time, Zhonya’s Hourglass is the natural choice as a third item. The item’s active is a real lifesaver, especially when considering the amount of burst damage in League of Legends at the moment.

Keep in mind that you can always go with Zhonya’s Hourglass as a second or even a first item. Sure, you will sacrifice your damage early on, but if that means you can survive key moments, then it’s well worth it.

Rabadon’s Deathcap

Item - Rabadon's Deathcap

Rabadon’s Deathcap: If there one item that LeBlanc should always build, then that is Rabadon’s Deathcap. This is a raw power elo boost purchase that doubles your Ability Power. Once purchased, you can start looking for picks around the map.

The value of Rabadon’s Deathcap can really be felt once you have a couple of items in your inventory. Whenever playing LeBlanc, try to build Deathcap after Cosmic Drive or after Zhonya’s Hourglass. It is a pricy item and should be bought once you have enough Ability Power first.

Morellonomicon

Item - Morellonomicon

Morellonomicon: And another crucial item in the LeBlanc build is Morellonomicon. This is a fantastic addition that provides Ability Power and Health. However, the biggest reason why we’re getting it is because of the Grevious Wounds effect.

At this moment, League of Legends swims in healing bonuses. Almost every champion has a way of regenerating health, so Morellonomicon isn’t just recommended, but mandatory too. It will reduce your opponent’s healing by 60%, which is enough in most cases.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Item - Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Since you’ll be running Luden’s Tempest on LeBlanc, you’ll have a good amount of Magic Penetration in your build already. That gives you the opportunity to purchase Ionian Boots of Lucidity instead of Sorcerer Shoes. And so, Ionian are among the cheapest boots upgrade in the game, with a great value for the price – 20 Ability Haste. We recommend you get this item in every game!

Situational Items

The first thing that we want to discuss from the situational items is Mejai’s Soulstealer. It is highly advised to build this item on LeBlanc, especially if you get a lead early on. The only thing that you should be careful about is dying and losing the stacks.

You can also notice that going with Liandry’s Anguish is recommended as well. This item is incredibly powerful, but it’s mostly targeted at tank champions. So whenever you’re facing tanky comp as LeBlanc in LoL, build Liandry’s Anguish instead of Luden’s Tempest.

The rest of the items have very specific usages. For example, Banshee’s Veil can help a lot against a team with multiple stuns. So, choose your items depending on the situation at hand!

LeBlanc’s Skill Order and Ability Combos

Skill Order

We can argue about which skill order build gives LeBlanc more power. However, the truth is that her W is the primary way of breaking the sigil and dealing damage. So naturally, you want to max it out first. LeBlanc’s Q is a key component in her kit, so that should be maxed second. Here is visual example:

LeBlanc ability - W
LeBlanc ability - Q
LeBlanc ability - E
LeBlanc ability - R

W > Q > E > R

or Q > W > E > R in some cases.

Ability Combos

When it comes to combining LeBlanc’s ability, the most important thing to keep track of is her Q. This ability puts a mark on her target. Hit that target with another spell detonates the mark and deals high damage. Inexperienced LeBlanc players often put sigils through Q or R on an enemy champion and fail to activate it. And if you’re looking to master LeBlanc, you must know how to combo her spells.

Here are a few examples of highly effective LeBlanc combos:

LeBlanc ability - Q
LeBlanc ability - W
LeBlanc ability - R
LeBlanc ability - E

Q > W > R > E =

classic combo for maximum damage.

LeBlanc ability - Q
LeBlanc ability - R
LeBlanc ability - W
LeBlanc ability - E

Q > R > W > E =

double sigil and follow up damage.

LeBlanc ability - Q
LeBlanc ability - E
LeBlanc ability - W
LeBlanc ability - R

Q > E > W > R =

rooting target in place for secured damage.

LeBlanc ability - E
LeBlanc ability - R
LeBlanc ability - Q
LeBlanc ability - W

E > R > Q > W =

double chain root to keep an enemy in CC.

Is LeBlanc Worth Learning?

We would say yes, absolutely! It really depends on your own playstyle, but LeBlanc is an excellent champion to main. The truth is that LeBlanc is always going to be dominant in solo queue, regardless of what the meta cuntly is. She is exceptional at exploiting other player mistakes and picking off targets in chaotic situations.

That said, keep in mind that this isn’t an easy champion to master. It might take a lot of time before you’re 100% confident in every scenario as LeBlanc. We advise you to practice the combos first, as well as watch how the pros play her. Take Faker, or ShowMaker, for example!

  • Morellonomicon
  • Void Staff
  • Zhonya’s Hourglass
  • Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Additonal Info

With this LeBlanc ARAM build, you’re looking at a pretty similar playstyle to the normal one. What gives LeBlanc an advantage on Howling Fjord is the constant fighting. She can safely stay on turret or in bush and wait for an enemy champion to be damaged. LeBlanc can kill almost anyone from 50% HP, so you’ll be wise to play to her strengths.

In the ARAM build, LeBlanc is much better with Rabadon’s Deathcap as a second item. This will give her instant power to dominate the game.

LeBlanc in Pro Play

LeBlanc has been largely forgotten in pro play this season. All the reasons we explained in the intro are well known to the professional teams. When it comes to important matches, they don’t often engage in risky and unsure champion picks, which LeBlanc is currently.

Players like Perkz, Milica, and Chovy tried their hand at LeBlanc but didn’t find too much success. But while LeBlanc might not be the strongest champion on the pro scene, she can be dominant in solo queue. So don’t be afraid to use this build!
