Why are Cooking and Fishing Important in WoW Shadowlands?

More than ever, Cooking and Fishing are in massive demand in Shadowlands. Cooking primarily creates food consumables that provide valuable buffs that boost our primary or secondary stats. In Shadowlands, we’re a bit less geared than in the other expansions on average. So we need every extra power we can get for defeating the game on any higher difficulty.

But the most important recipes that Cooking offers are the [Surprisingly Palatable Feast] and [Feast of Gluttonous Hedonism]. These are party-wide feasts that you can set up for all party or raid members. After 10 seconds of eating, all members will receive a significant increase in their primary stat, namely, Intellect, Strength, or Agility. Upon death, these buffs are removed. But you can set up a new feast and reuse it for a new set of buffs.

However, to create these feasts, you also need Fishing. Fishing is responsible for gathering a large part of the materials and reagents needed for Cooking. In short, you collect various fish types like [Silvergill Pike] or [Spinefin Piranha], and you then cook them in food that grants you bonuses. Pretty simple, right?

Truthfully, there is more to this profession than it seems on the surface. You’ll have to know where to farm Fishing in WoW Shadowlands and which spots to pick for some good money-making. Don’t worry. We will tell you a few extremely profitable Fishing spots, so you can gather as many high-selling materials as possible.

Now let’s learn how to actually start with leveling Cooking and Fishing in WoW Shadowlands!

How to Start with Cooking in WoW Shadowlands?

Cooking Trainer Location in Oribos

To start with your Cooking, you’ll need to learn the profession first. Head over to Oribos and the Hall of Shapes part of the city. The Cooking trainer in WoW Shadowlands is located in the last “cube-part” of Hall of Shapes, in Oribos. His name is Chef Au’krut, and his precise coordinates are 46.2, 25.6. And if you interact with this NPC, he will watch you [Shadowlands Cooking] and how to create a campfire for outdoor cooking.

While you’re there, make sure to check the Cooking supplies vendor called Distributor Au’van. There are a bunch of things that you’re going to need from him, like [Inconceivably Aged Vinegar], [Lusterwheat Flour], and [Rich Grazer Milk]. These are all reagents that you’ll need for most of the Cooking recipes in Shadowlands. So make sure to stock on them from the beginning.

Cooking Materials

As in the previous expansions, the materials that Cooking requires in Shadowlands come from both vendor and outdoor farming. And as we mentioned above, the vendor materials are cheap, easy to find and always in stock.

On the other hand, the outdoor materials require some knowledge. First of all, there are a bunch of meats that you can loot from the mobs all around the four zones of the Shadowlands. And you’ll need every single one of them for some recipe or another.

However, you’ll also need fishes. Fishes are an inescapable part of leveling up Cooking in WoW Shadowlands. And unless you have gold ready to be spent on fish regents, you’ll need to farm those up too.

Here are lists of all materials you’re going to need for Cooking in Shadowlands!

Which Recipes to Target for Making Gold in Shadowlands with Cooking?

Of course, the most profitable of all recipes are the feasts. These sit in the central idea of making gold with Cooking in World of Warcraft. You’ll want to create as many of them as you can and post them at the Auction House. The materials for the feasts aren’t the easiest to farm, and they can be a bit pricy too. And that’s why you should also consider the other types of food buffs. Here is a list of the best-selling Cooking recipes in Shadowlands.

How to Start with Fishing in WoW Shadowlands?

Fishing Trainer Location in Oribos

Like the other professions, to start with Fishing, you must first pick it up from the trainer. The Shadowlands Fishing trainer is located in the last part of the Hall of Shapes in Oribos, right next to the Cooking trainer. And you can find him under the name of Retriever Au’prin. Interacting with him will teach you [Shadowlands Fishing].

Before you set off to fish, you’ll also need to talk to the Fishing supplies vendor called Distributor Au’nagl. This NPC sells all the necessary equipment for Fishing. So if this is your first time playing with this profession, make sure to purchase a fishing pole, like [Aquatic Extractor] or [The Brokers Angle’r]. These work the same way as the Ink Set or the Runed Copper Rod for Inscription or Enchanting

And the last thing to purchase from the Fishing supplies vendor is the baits. These are 30-minute consumable buffs that you can attach to your fishing pole. They increase the chance that you’ll catch a specific fish, depending on which bait you’ve purchased or attached.

Fishing Materials

As mentioned previously, the fishes in Shadowlands can either be fished in specific zones or all around the expansion. If you’re targeting a particular fish, however, we suggest purchasing a couple of baits first. For example, if you want to fish some Spinefin Piranha, make sure to buy Spinefin Piranha Bait.

Leveling Up Shadowlands Fishing

Fishing is one of the easiest professions to level up in World of Warcraft. It’s not like Herbalism or Mining, and you aren’t forced to travel all the time in order to gather fish. The most efficient way to level up Fishing in WoW Shadowlands is to pick a water spot, a lake, or a pond and fish there. It really doesn’t matter where you fish during the leveling since you only want to increase your skill. But if you’re targeting specific fish, then you can go around the zones and search for suitable locations.

If you choose one spot, however, and you want to level up Fishing from 1 to 200 as fast as possible, it usually takes less than 2 hours to complete the process. On average, you’re going to spend 1 hour and 40 minutes at the spot, repeatedly fishing and doing nothing else. We recommend you to use The Brokers Angle’r fishing pole for increased speed.

Also, don’t miss out on the Fishing World Quests as well.
